Solingen: wood as raw material and more important

Solingen / firewood, wood pellets or wood chips are used as renewable raw materials in view of scarce resources and rising energy prices at a premium.

The three major cities and the Bergische Kreis Mettmann therefore want to share the cultivation and sale of wood for heating or for
Energy boost. They now offer as part of the bioenergy project management on this subject to a trade event, which deals with the "challenges for a regional wood energy logistics."

The event will take place on Tuesday 20 September, 14-17 Clock, in the monastery church Minoritensaal Remscheid-Lennep, Klostergasse 8 instead.


Several papers treat the wood energy logistics in the region with
Treatment, transportation and warehousing. Since early 2010, working together, the three major cities of Wuppertal Remscheid, Solingen, Wuppertal and the District of Mettmann in the project "Regional Bioenergy management" more closely.

The goal is to make the bio-energy market more transparent and to give impetus to invest in new bioenergy plants in order to contribute to sustainable, renewable and decentralized energy supply in the region.

The Ministry of climate change, environment, agriculture and natural and Consumer Protection of NRW financially supports the two-year pilot project.
